Banoffee Pie

On Valentine’s Day I made Adam one of his favourite puddings as a treat.

Serves 4-8

300g Oaty Biscuits (Hob Nobs are good)
100g Butter , melted
397g tin Nestlé Carnation Caramel
3 Bananas , sliced
200ml Double Cream
1 tbsp Icing Sugar
1 tbsp Cocoa Powder

Crush the biscuits in a food processor then add the melted butter and pulse to combine. Press the mixture into a 24cm tart tin, with a removable base, in an even layer.

Spread the caramel over the biscuit base and chill for 1 hour. Arrange the banana slices over the toffee.

Whip the cream and sugar together to form soft peaks and spread over the bananas. Dust with cocoa powder – voilà!

  1. What are oaties? I’ve never seen Nestle Carmel stuff here in America…….

    • They are oat biscuits, you can also use digestives or any biscuit really. You can boil a can of condensed milk (for 3-4hrs!) to get caramel – quite a commitment to make a banoffee pie!
