I had some leftover puff pastry, so I used it to make some cheese straws…they were delicious!
200g Puff Pastry
Handful of grated Parmesan
Splash of Milk
Salt amp; Pepper
Heat the oven to 200C / Gas 6. Roll out the pastry evenly to make a rectangle about the thickness of a pound coin. Brush with milk and sprinkle cheese onto one half of the pastry, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Fold the pastry in half and roll out again to same thickness as before. Cut into strips about 2cm wide. Twist the strips 2-3 times and push the ends down, gently flatten the twisted part.
Put each twisted strip of pastry onto a baking tray and bake for 20mins near the top of the oven.
Delicious as a snack or goes well with salad, would be good with some dipping sauce – yum!
