At the beginning of this month it was my gorgeous niece’s 1st birthday, I wanted to make her a gift. I was inspired by something I saw on pinterest and decided to make all three of my lovely nieces a crown each, princesses for a day!
Materials;
Thick Felt (I used green, purple & blue)
Cotton (I used two types of flowery and one blue with white spots)
Glue
Pegs
Scissors
Hairbands (I used yellow, purple & blue – thick material bands make it easier to stick the crowns on)
I cut a rectangle of felt for each crown, the felt I bought had one sticky side, so I stuck a matching piece of patterned cotton onto each piece of coloured felt and cut it to fit the felt.
Next I glued the crowns into circles and used pegs to hold them until the glue dried.
Once the glue was dry, I folded the crowns in half and cut triangles to make the points.
Lastly I glued each crown to a hairband and glued a circle of felt to fill in the bottom of each crown. The final products are below, I’m really pleased with them.

Did you use hot glue or something else? Is it just the crown edges touching the headband or did you use something else to reinforce the hold?
Yes, I used a glue gun. I made circles of felt and glued these into the bottom of each crown so the headband was glued to the felt base of the crown, it held better that way. I hope you have a go at making a crown, let me know how you get on.
