Oliver Jeffers

Oliver Jeffers is an illustrator and author and has produced eight picture books for children, he has an interesting childish sketching/writing style. Oliver’s illustrations are wonderful, most of his work seems to combine his art with literature – either lined paper or sections from books as the background with Oliver’s sketches/editing layered on top. It’s a very enchanting and unique way of producing illustration.

The Guardian recently published a gallery of his book illustrations HERE, as well as a some illustrated instructions on “How to Draw a Penguin“.

One of his books “Lost and Found” has been made into an animation, which has won many international awards, including a BAFTA for Best animation in 2009. You can see the trailer below;
